‘The Shape of Water’ leads Oscar race with 13 nominations

LOS ANGELES | Fox Searchlight’s fantasy drama “The Shape of Water” led the Oscar nominations on Tuesday with 13 nods, including the top prize for best picture, as well as best director for Guillermo del Toro, and best actress for lead star Sally Hawkins.

World War II epic “Dunkirk” received eight nominations, while dark comedy “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” which dominated the recent Golden Globe Awards, picked up seven.

Both are also in the running for best picture, along with “Call Me By Your Name,” “Darkest Hour,” “Get Out,” “Lady Bird,” “Phantom Thread,” and “The Post.”

The awards will be handed out on March 4 at a ceremony in Hollywood hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

In the Philippines, “The Oscars Red Carpet,” And “The 90TH Annual Academy Awards” will Stream ‘Live’ On HBO GO And Broadcast ‘Live’ And exclusively on HBO on March 5 From 7:30AM. Both programs will encore that same night on HBO at 7PM and 8PM respectively.

The 90th Academy Awards nominations were announced from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theatre by actress-comedian Tiffany Haddish and actor-director Andy Serkis and joined by Academy President John Bailey. The announcement will be replayed on HBO GO and on HBO HITS on January 27 at 6.30PM.
