The new McDonald’s commercial that reunited Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion reached over 3 million views on Facebook One after just 24 hours.

The short video that saw one of the country’s most popular love teams of all time trying to catch up with each other at a McDonald’s store was later posted to YouTube with the title “Kumusta Ka (feat. Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion)” and had generated over 215,000 views as of this posting.

Following its social media debut on Friday, February 8, the McDonald’s commercial created a frenzy on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube as both Sharon and Gabby shared some behind-the-scenes moments from the making of the 87-second video.

“I have been emotional all day since seeing Gabby’s and my TVC… so many mixed emotions. I had a feeling this would be something special – mainly because every single thing Gabby and I ever did and made together (including our daughter, hahaha!) was a sure success, & in more ways than one,” Sharon posted.

But while she was very pleased with how the commercial turned out and how it received a lot of love from the general public, the Megastar also shared her apprehensions before it was shot.

“I didn’t know what to expect in terms of how our public would receive us now that we are older, now that we have been apart for 26 years onscreen, & not exactly friends offscreen. I didn’t even know what to expect of Gabby when we were about to shoot the TVC and prayed so hard that it would be at least pleasant,” she admitted in her post.

But after realizing the huge impact of the commercial, Sharon reflected on the enduring legacy of her onscreen tandem with the man she called her “original Prince Charming” especially after reading the Facebook post of book author Cathy Sanchez-Babao who shared how the McDonald’s video made a terminally ill patient smile.

“I again realized the power of Gabby’s and my team-up…since he was 17 and I was 15 in ‘Dear Heart,’ we had no idea we would be able to touch so many hearts…even make those from the A-B social bracket go to the cinemas to watch Tagalog movies again or perhaps for the first time in their lives…that we would always pull at our audience’s heartstrings and help them remember how love in its purest form – simple, true, beautiful – can make anyone of any age feel so consumed by it and by the joy only it can bring; for all to always feel young – and in love,” she further wrote.

And of course, Sharon was very happy that the McDonald’s project resulted in what she called her “renewed friendship” with her ex-husband with whom she has been estranged for years following their legal separation in 1987 and subsequent annulment of their marriage in 1993.

“May God bless our renewed friendship and may we truly learn to forgive as we say we do and keep only all the good that we shared, for the next 100 years,” Sharon posted.
