The GeForce GTX 1050 (Ti) is the entry level card of the GTX 10xx series. It is meant for those gamers who are on a budget meal, yet still yearn for that awesome gaming performance.

Don’t be mistaken. The 1050 is not some small potato entry level GPU. With the right combination of a budget CPU (Pentium G4560 is highly recommended), this beast can destroy your favorite e-sports titles like CS:GO or Overwatch in 1080p.

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is powered by the new Nvidia Pascal architecture, using the GP-107 chip featuring 768 CUDA cores with a base clock starting at 1290MHz; and is paired with a 4GB GDDR5 memory with 112 GB/s memory bandwidth running on a 128-bit interface. The non-Ti version (GTX 1050) has only 640 CUDA cores and 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

If you have gone window shopping for a GTX 1050 Ti, the usual graphics card offerings are the ones that have a black or black and red color scheme like Zotac or MSI. Galax has decided to be different and I think they are the only one in the market who came up with a white themed GTX 1050 Ti – the GALAX GeForce GTX 1050 Ti EX OC WHITE.

This card features an all-white plastic shroud, white fans with white LED lights, and even the PCB itself is white! You will find the design similar to the GALAX GTX 1080 HOF. It also has a beefy aluminum heatsink with copper heatpipes and dual 80mm fans for efficient cooling. It also requires a power input of 6-pin PCIe for efficiency, overclocking, and smoother game performance.

The GALAX GeForce GTX 1050 Ti EX OC White is overclocked out of the box (hence EX OC or Extreme Overclocked) and it has a core clock boost of 1468 MHz, and memory clock of 7008 MHz. It has 4GB of GDDR5 Memory. For outputs, it has 2x DL-DVI, 1 HDMI 2.0b, and DisplayPort 1.4.

GALAX also has an overclocking software that you can download from their website called Xtreme Tuner Plus which is very easy to use and will allow you to push the GTX 1050 Ti a little bit more.

So, for the performance test, we paired it with my Intel Core i5-3470 with an overclock boost of 4.0GHz and 16GB of DDR3 RAM overclocked to 1600MHz.

I gave it a stress test using Furmark on the FullHD preset to see how hot the card could get. The idle temperature is 41°C and it maxed out at 82°C after 15 minutes. Not bad at all. But during my gaming tests it only went up to 65°C. I know that my small form factor Cube PC Chassis and the Tropical climate contributed to the heat.

So now, the performance test. In 3DMark’s Time Spy Direct X 12 benchmark it got a score of 2459.

For gaming, we played in 1920×1080 resolution and used the MSI Afterburner’s Riva tuner to watch the frame rates. Here are the gaming results which are also shown in the video:

Metro redux = 45fps avg
CS:GO = 147fps avg
Bioshock infinite = 90fps avg
Shadow of Mordor = 46fps avg
Argo = 37fps avg
Waframe = 105fps avg

Galax did a good job with this one because the GALAX GTX 1050 Ti EXOC WHITE is a spectacular graphics card that delivers extreme 1080p Gaming performance.
